Loving the World
Engineering projects, arts and crafts, better agriculture ...does spirituality mean shunning all such concerns and delights of mankind?
There's a vital distinction between loving the world and loving worldliness, a difference between loving mankind and being absorbed in material living.
"God so loved the world," the Bible tells us, "that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16; Because God loves the world, should not we, too? To love the world means, for us, understanding and enjoying what is good in life and helping to eliminate the troubles we see about us.
