My first testimony appeared in The Christian Science Journal of February, 1965.
Several years ago when we were returning home from a visit with my daughter, a tire on our car blew out and caused us to overturn into a ditch off the highway. I had been driving the car but was on the back seat when it landed upright in the ditch. The only statement made before help reached us was by my son, who said, "God is right here." Two large highway trucks had stopped and the drivers came down to offer assistance. We assured them we were all right, and one of the drivers put a chain on the car and pulled it back to the highway. Even though the car was damaged, we were able to drive it to our home, a distance of about one hundred miles.
We often read the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly when we travel, as well as the Christian Science periodicals and hymns from the Christian Science Hymnal. These words from Hymn No. 53 express beautifully God's loving embrace which enfolded us, and indeed took us all the way:
