Christian Science was explained to me first by a dear aunt when I was twelve years old. I will never forget her explanation of the first two chapters of Genesis in the Bible revealing to me the true spiritual creation and the false concept. This lifted me out of darkness and depression.

I had lost my mother when I was three and had been separated from my father when I was twelve. It was inspiring to learn from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy that God is my real Father and Mother and He lovingly cares for all of my needs.

I graduated from high school during the economic depression and stood in line to look for my first job. During this time I met the man who later became my Christian Science teacher. He prayed for me and taught me how to do deep study with the Concordances to the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings. I learned through this study there is only one business and that is the business of expressing God's qualities, such as love, intelligence, and joy. When I grasped this thought I knew I was already employed and could never be without employment. Very soon after this I was offered a position that gave me much happiness and satisfaction.
