Christian Science has been my only physician, and I have had many healings through its application.

About two years ago I tripped and fell, and appeared to break a rib. The healing did not take place right away, but during this period when I was not able to be active I reread Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy from beginning to end. I also did a good deal of other studying of the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings. As a result, this was a time of much growth in spiritual understanding.

A few months later I dropped a heavy object on my toe, and the toe appeared to be crushed. At first I could hardly walk, but within a few hours, by affirming and reaffirming the truth of spiritual being, all pain disappeared. An article I had read in a Sentinel inspired me to gratefully acknowledge God as infinite Principle or Person, the realm of infinite Love as the only place, and Love's infinite reflection as ideas with which I had to work. I held to this truth and shut out all thoughts of anything else. Although the swelling and discoloration continued for a number of days, there was no discomfort after those first few hours. The injury had occurred on a Thursday afternoon, and on the following Saturday afternoon I was free to serve as hostess at a party in our home—an especially active day.
