GOD'S DRIFTERS
Science and Health 205:22-27
None need be afraid of drift.
If we choose our currents well,
These will guide by channels safe
Chart and compass could not tell.
Drifting, we can fearless ride
Swiftest race and stormiest seas.
Oar and helm might never give
Passage round their promontories.
Unselfed love and joy and peace—
These are currents strong and sure.
Knowing man as God-directed
Brings to anchorage secure.
On these currents borne we reach
Calm of Spirit's latitudes;
And in them we find the good
That all lesser good includes.
