Arrest that Bad Thought!
"Sheriffs must be the greatest guys in the whole world," thought Geoff.
His Uncle Tony was a deputy sheriff and he told Geoff some great stories. Geoff loved his uncle's uniform with its wide hat, and his badge and whistle. And especially his handcuffs! Geoff had toy ones that were almost as good.
Geoff, who was five years old, and his younger brother had a good time every day pretending they were sheriff and deputy sheriff. They each had a toy police car that looked very much like Uncle Tony's. The cars had bright red lights that flickered and turned when they roared across the floor.
