"The Christlike understanding of scientific being and divine healing includes a perfect Principle and idea,—perfect God and perfect man,—as the basis of thought and demonstration." This explanation of Mrs. Eddy's in Science and Health (p. 259) and other healing truths, including "the scientific statement of being" on page 468, helped to heal me some months ago of the effects of an accident.

I was in my pickup truck and stopped at the mailbox at the ranch to pick up the mail. As I was opening the box, I noticed the truck backing up into the street. I ran over, and in an effort to get into the truck, was knocked to the pavement and one wheel of the truck ran over me. Passersby called an ambulance and the police, and soon they had me in the emergency room of the general hospital.

While this was taking place I was praying, endeavoring to know the truth about myself. Bible verses were clear in my mind that tell me who I am, a child of God. In the emergency ward, the attendants asked me questions and I immediately told them I was a student of Christian Science and wanted no medication of any kind. They insisted on taking X rays of my body. They could only find three broken ribs in the right side of my chest. Then I was taken home.
