My introduction to Christian Science came when I met my wife
My introduction to Christian Science came when I met my wife. Although I witnessed many healings for my wife and children, I could not quite accept all of the teachings of Christian Science. I felt that if I were allowed to smoke and have that occasional social drink and once in a while go to a doctor, I would be able to accept Christian Science.
A few years later a severe difficulty arose that caused me to go to the doctor twice a week. It was diagnosed as ulcerated colitis. After several months of medical treatment, the situation became progressively worse. I was unable to eat, work, or sleep. My wife always lovingly asked me if I was ready to be healed in Christian Science, and each time I said that I could not quite accept it.
