For almost twenty years I was preparing to make a trip to the United States. Within several weeks after my arrival in this country I obtained a very good job, with great opportunities for advancement. Later, I had to change my job, and the one I obtained didn't offer any kind of future. At a time when I felt great desperation over injustices at work, friends invited me to a Christian Science lecture given in Spanish.

I attended it very fearfully because I had no idea what I would hear. While the lecturer spoke I was amazed at the love his words expressed. Then I was invited to attend the Spanish services held by The Mother Church for the Boston community. Little by little I began to understand this wonderful religion, which completely changed my life. Through the application of this Science, I feel like a new person, with great love for my fellowman and great gratitude to God for all the proofs I have every day of His care.

I have been healed of constipation, lack of confidence, bad temper, and personal pride. A Christian Science practitioner one day recommended I study what Mrs. Eddy says in Science and Health (p. 283), "Mind is the source of all movement, and there is no inertia to retard or check its perpetual and harmonious action." After thinking deeply about the inspiration Mrs. Eddy had when she wrote those words, and with the consecrated prayer of the practitioner, I didn't need to take laxatives anymore, despite the fact that, as I had been made to believe, my trouble was hereditary. I am now completely free of sickness, fears, and doubts, for I have learned this wonderful lesson through Christian Science: the kingdom of heaven is within me, and I do not need to look outward for the joy that belongs to me by divine right. Now I know that God surrounds each of us with His infinite love.
