Words cannot express my gratitude for Christian Science

Words cannot express my gratitude for Christian Science. I have had many healings, some through the study of the textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, and some with the help of practitioners. The desire for church membership made me ask for a practitioner's help in letting go of the smoking and drinking habits, which had held me in bondage for over thirty-five years.

The healing for which I am most grateful is one of stomach cancer. My dad had suffered from this disease a few years prior to my illness. The doctor who had taken care of my dad advised my family to get me to a hospital for an operation, if it was at all possible to operate. I refused medical treatment, and called a Christian Science practitioner to work with me. In three weeks the malignancy dissolved. During this time I held to a statement that the practitioner gave me, saying, "Hold to this and understand its spiritual meaning." It is in the book of Hebrews (4:12): "The word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

I was healed of tonsillitis, which had recurred every spring, by the treatment of a practitioner. Cysts, infection, a decayed molar, and false traits of character are just a few of the many healings I have had. I am truly grateful to be accepted into the fold of The Mother Church and a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, and for the practitioners' untiring and unselfish work. My desire now is to have that Mind which was in Christ Jesus.
