You Do Have a Purpose

People today are striving to attain a new awareness, find a real relatedness. Through touch and talk with others some hope to find a way out of their difficulties. Basically, the underlying cause of many problems is a sense of loneliness or "alone-ness," a feeling of being unattached, drifting through a mere series of impressions —called life—without purpose or destination.

Christian Science emphatically asserts, and the Bible confirms, that man is at one with God. The very first chapter of Genesis establishes this fact: "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him." Gen. 1:27; A recognition of this definitely destroys the mortal belief of being alone, drifting through time and space. As the image of God, divine Love, man is not separated from his source, but at one with it, expressing God, as the individual embodiment of His ideas. In accord with this relationship it is the purpose and destiny of each one to know himself as a complete manifestation of divine Love's presence and power.

God is the divine Principle of all true being. God must be God; it is impossible for Him to be otherwise. Just so, as divine idea, it is impossible for man not to be the perfect, complete, wholly satisfied individual God made him to be.
