I wish to express my deep gratitude for Christian Science, and for the freedom and blessings received as a result of studying and practicing it.

My first introduction to this Science came when a copy of the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, was left in our home by a relative. I was ill and taking medicine from a physician. Through reading Science and Health I was healed. After I became an earnest student of Christian Science, problems were solved, and I had many physical healings.

A few years ago as I was preparing to go to work my body seemed heavy and my limbs difficult to move. I declared "the scientific statement of being," given in the textbook. It includes these words (p. 468): "Spirit is God, and man is His image and likeness. Therefore man is not material; he is spiritual." I thought, "I know man is perfect," and I continued preparing for work. Finally I realized I needed assistance and called someone to help me get into bed. She phoned a Christian Science practitioner, who came and talked with me and gave me treatment through prayer, assuring me that I was in God's care. But the next morning I was unable to stand alone or walk.
