Letters to the Press
From Christian Science Committees on Publication
Coeur d'Alene Press
Coeur d'Alene, Idaho
I was surprised to read in your Jan. 12 issue the paid advertisement entitled "Ask Your Preacher" and to find the number of factual inaccuracies in its attack on the Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy. The advertisement showed no acquaintance whatever with the recent historical scholarship in regard to the subject. More importantly, it showed no understanding of Christian Science, as when it referred to Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures as "the Bible of Christian Science."
For those who have questions about Christian Science, it would seem normal to seek firsthand information at a Christian Science Reading Room, rather than to go to another denominational source with an evident bias.
