Having experienced the many benefits of being a lifelong student of Christian Science, I wish to acknowledge what it has done for me and express my deep appreciation for Mrs. Eddy, as well as for my Sunday School teachers, and for all who have prayerfully helped me along the way. I know that Christian Science, understood and consistently practiced, meets all human needs.

One example of its healing efficacy for which I am particularly grateful occurred almost twenty years ago. I was playing with two young cousins when one of them accidentally shoved the end of a broom handle into my eye. I went to bed, where I could close both eyes and turn my thought wholeheartedly to God. I had the prayerful support of others at the scene, for they were all students of Christian Science. My mother, whom I telephoned, reminded me of a loved Bible verse (Ps. 138:8): "The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me." Other helpful statements of truth were (Ps. 119:18), "Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law," and (Miscellaneous Writings by Mrs. Eddy, p. 227), "No evidence before the material senses can close my eyes to the scientific proof that God, good, is supreme."

The comforting reassurance of God's loving care for me was immediately effective, and I slept well that night. By morning the pain was practically gone, although I still couldn't use my eyes normally. I continued to pray for myself for several days.
