I am so very grateful to God for Mrs. Eddy for giving us Christian Science. Since childhood I have relied on the laws of Life, as set forth in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I have had healings of physical distress, have felt God's protection, and known His provision when I lacked funds.

One evening I had a severe pain in my chest. I could not sit or lie down, and I breathed with great difficulty. I reached out to God to know my spiritual nature derived from Him. Although I could not think clearly, I realized that "the scientific statement of being" in Science and Health, page 468, contained the truth for me as well as for everyone else. I repeated this statement over and over, seeking to understand it. It includes these words: "There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter. All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all." Suddenly the pain left me and I praised God for His mercy and goodness.

At another time my body was not functioning normally, and the suggestion was that certain organs were not performing correctly. I asked for help through prayer from a Christian Science practitioner. Slowly the painful condition left me, but not until many medically-based suggestions in my thinking had been corrected, and I beheld my true identity as man in God's image. I am grateful for the help we receive when we call on practitioners, who are ever ready to help.
