Gently Step by Step
The great facts of spiritual being, revealed in Christian Science, are true now, at this very moment.
God is Life, all real Life, right now. There is but one Mind, now, here. Man and the universe are under the government of God at this moment. Matter is unreal.
Can we not, then, realize—encompass in consciousness—these glorious truths immediately, since we now know them? No. To grasp infinity at one gulp is impossible. Since time began, men have believed the false testimony of the material senses, which says that man lives in matter, that man and God are separate, that both good and evil are real, with evil sometimes superior, that disease is a reality and death inescapable. They have lived in accordance with these beliefs. This customary acceptance of falsity cannot be erased in a single moment or with the simple recognition that it was a mistake.
