What Have We to Give?
As individuals, just what have we to give? This challenging, self-searching question takes us far beyond the material concept of matter-riches, far above fluctuating pocketbooks and bank accounts. It probes into the depth of one's spiritualized consciousness.
The Scriptures inform us, "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." James 1:17; This divine source is infinite Spirit. It pours forth freely, giving continuously its divine ideas. The understanding of this broadens and enhances our concepts of true giving.
God's unfathomable spiritual riches can never be measured, weighed, counted, limited, or depleted. Our loving Father's perpetual giving includes impartially all His children. Some individuals use these gifts; some abuse them; others are unaware of their existence. Giving is a two-way blessing. The one who gives is blessed by his unselfish desire to share and the exclusion of limitation from his thinking. The one who receives is blessed by the proof of Love's loving care and provision. How much or how little we accept or give becomes an individual demonstration.
