ON HEARING THE GOOD NEWS
O let my feet run
fast upon the mountain!
Let there be no delay now.
So sweet the Word on my tongue,
the Truth at my side
like a delivering Sword;
here in my heart, my thought,
the glorious message;
the Cup of healing
filled to the full in my hand.
No doubts now.
Truth cannot be gainsaid,
Love ignored, Life denied;
there is no going back,
no argument.
Only the sureness
and the leaping desire
to run down the street that is Straight
to find my Saul.
Like Ananias
hearing God's call, I cry
"Behold, I am here, Lord."
Here with the thundering news,
the marvelous joy,
with the Word and the Cup
and the Sword held high.
O yes, yes, Lord, here am I!
