I wish to express my deep gratitude to God for the blessings received since I became acquainted with Christian Science. I had my first contact with this marvelous Science some years ago when I was very ill. Many doctors studied my case and diagnosed a blood deficiency without being able to find the solution, and they were completely perplexed. I was very weak and sad, but at that moment an acquaintance of mine, who only a short time before had attended the church services, asked me if I would agree to be treated by a Christian Science practitioner. She told me of testimonies she had heard at the Wednesday meetings, and although I did not understand what it was she was offering me, I accepted.

The first thing I experienced was a complete feeling of rejection of all the medicines I had been taking. I threw them all out, and I refused to take any more. On the following day I arose, and since then I have been well.

Since all this happened without my even talking by telephone with the practitioner, my relatives could not believe I was completely well, and they wanted me to have a medical checkup. I did submit to this, and everything was in order. Then I wanted to know what it was that had caused this change in me and to thank the one who had prayed that I might be well. She treated me with much love and understanding and advised me to obtain the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. As soon as I began to read it, a new world opened before me; I could not put it down. I learned that I had a great deal more to understand.
