Finding Our Place
Creation is complete. "God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good." Gen. 1:31; Viewing creation from an absolute, spiritual standpoint, we can better recognize the right course to follow in our experience. Should we seek a particular job or move to a certain locality or get married or go to college? Christian Science teaches us to begin with the spiritual facts of being to find the correct answer.
To begin with, it's helpful to realize that we're not dealing with two creations, one material and uncertain and the other spiritual and perfect. Mrs. Eddy says: "There is but one creator and one creation. This creation consists of the unfolding of spiritual ideas and their identities, which are embraced in the infinite Mind and forever reflected. These ideas range from the infinitesimal to infinity, and the highest ideas are the sons and daughters of God." Science and Health, pp. 502-503;
Finding a right place, then, does not involve the manipulation of material circumstances. Nor is it dependent upon other people. Rather, it is a recognition that right now creation is wholly spiritual and God-governed. Everything is in its proper place. Nothing has to be shuffled around or recreated to make it right. Our place in that creation is established. "I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it." Eccl. 3:14;
