THE SECRET PLACE
John 11:6
And "he abode two days
Still in the same place
Where he was."
Two days. A lifetime
To those who waited.
(Why does he not come?
Could it be the message
Has not reached him?
If he were here all would be well.
He would pronounce the word
And then our brother would be well.
If only he were here.)
Yet he remained in the same place where he was—
The message reached him where he was.
He saw no need to speedily depart.
No lie of sickness ever could take shape
Within his Truth-replenished consciousness;
No hindering sin could lurk unseen
To counteract his Love-pure thought.
No false report of death
Could agitate that Life-engendered calm.
So he abode two days apart—
Then came to heal his friend.
