I am convinced that gratitude opens our thought to receive...
I am convinced that gratitude opens our thought to receive all good, thereby excluding error.
In our family there have been healings of what are sometimes called children's diseases, and of migraine, heart problems, and other troubles in the years since I became a member of The Mother Church in 1929.
More recently, with treatment by a Christian Science practitioner, I experienced a beautiful healing. Upon awakening in the early morning hours, I felt violently ill and was in severe pain. Because I was alone and afraid, I called some friends, who came at once and phoned a practitioner who lived some distance away. There was no immediate relief, but on the fourth telephone call, he asked to speak to me. His words alerted me to the truth that God is the only causation, and that in my real being, as His image and likeness, I could not be manifesting anything unlike Him. In a few minutes I was asleep, and after resting for about half an hour, I awakened completely free. My friends rejoiced with me, and I am thankful to relate that I was able to leave the following day on a seven-hundred-mile trip.
