Dear Son
[Special to the Sentinel]
I know it's a big disappointment to you. You wanted it so much, and you worked so hard. And now it goes to someone else.
There is something to learn from this experience, something about you. How many times we have talked about your spiritual identity, how you are an expression or reflection of God—Life, Truth, Love! God is the very source of your being. The divine Life you reflect knows no blocks, no stoppage of good. The eternal Truth you express knows no disappointing circumstance. The ever-present Love you embody knows no jealousy or envy. You are what you are—God's idea, His very image and likeness, and not a mortal caught up in disappointing circumstances—you're just wonderful!
Sure it's great to get what you want, especially when you've worked for it. But perhaps you need to ask what God's will, God's purpose, for you is. It's often hard when we want something very much to let go of our own human will and yield to the will of God.
