I am very grateful to God for what has been done for me for many years through my study of the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I had heard of Christian Science through an aunt in another city who was reading the textbook. As I needed something more than my religion was giving me, at my request my aunt sent me a copy.

Years ago I was wearing glasses and being treated for poor sight by a Christian Science practitioner, and praying to gain more spiritual perception and the understanding that sight and all the faculties of man are spiritual and therefore indestructible. At Easter, I went to Boston with a friend to hear the Boston Symphony Orchestra. During the concert I could not see the musicians, so I cleaned my glasses, but still could not see. I left the glasses off and could see perfectly. I have not needed glasses since.

I sent a copy of Science and Health to my sister, who was in a mental institution. She was allowed to go each day to a quiet room to read it. She regained her health, and I was sent for to bring her home. As she wanted to attend a Church of Christ, Scientist, I accompanied her. To my amazement the young man I was going with was there with his parents. We had not discussed religion. We were subsequently married. He was already a member of the local branch church, which I also joined, and we both became members of The Mother Church. We had many happy years together, rearing two nephews with the wonderful help of this religion, so that there was rarely an illness to be healed.
