Friendships Need Not Be Precarious
There are many moments in our lives when the closeness and shared joy of friendship, catching the glow of divine Love, penetrate the veil of matter.
However, some of us may be tempted to try to grasp each moment and hold it tight in the belief we have to experience a limited number of such happy times rather than a life overflowing with them. Or the suggestion may come to try to cling to our dear friends with whom we have shared these moments. Inevitably when we allow such suggestions place in our thought, we find the very joy we cherish threatened by fear and gloom.
The Bible asks: "Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh." James 3:11, 12;
