One day in February, 1970, while I was painting a picture, I became ill. I couldn't move, and so I called help. The manager of the residence where I live heard me, summoned help, and I was carried to my room and put into bed. Evidently I had had a stroke.
Being a student of Christian Science for over fifty-four years, I knew only a right understanding of God was needed, as He is my Life and is ever present. In addition to prayerful treatment by a Christian Science practitioner, I had physical care from a woman my family summoned, a devout Christian Scientist, who stayed with me for fifteen days, helping and ministering to my needs. No medication was used. I live in a home where all of the residents are Christian Scientists. Within a few days feeling came into my hands and then into my arms.
For an additional twelve days this problem slowly but surely was being healed spiritually with the help of the practitioner. My legs became operative, and within twenty-seven days I was up and walking.
