I first became acquainted with Christian Science through my husband. I noticed how few problems he and his family had, and yet when what to me would have been a crisis arose they were able to handle it smoothly. I was very curious about this religion, which seemed odd to me, and one day I picked up my husband's copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Even though I found it hard to understand many of the terms used, it was during this reading that I first had a clear idea of what God is and how to pray.

Almost two years later I had my first healing. After our first child was born, I hadn't recovered recovered properly and had some pain. I asked my husband's mother if she would help me. She talked to me of God's great love for me, and prayed (or more specifically she gave me Christian Science treatment). The next day I was healed.
