Christian Science was presented to me in October, 1955, by a loving friend who recognized my need. It has been my only physician in the years since. Before October, 1955, I had been through four major operations and treated for kidney trouble, hepatitis, endometriosis, and amebic dysentery. I had been in and out of the hospital about every four months for nine years.

During this period the sulfur drugs and all antibiotics had no lasting effect and finally lost all power to help in any degree. I had become immune, and they only aggravated the problem. I contracted hepatitis during one of these hospital stays and was told I would always suffer the effects of having had this disease.

Later it was discovered I was now allergic to all pain-killing medicines. I then weighed ninety-seven pounds and the doctors said that since I could take no medicines for infection or pain I would just have to get along the best I could, and they released me.
