The Radiance of Love

Have you ever been to a meeting, an interview, or a discussion where everything moved in complete harmony and not one discordant note was heard, where helpful suggestions were made far beyond what you had considered possible? This happened to me not long ago, and after a series of interviews I felt with gratitude that an abundance of blessing had been mine.

This happy experience was not limited to the business part of the trip I was taking. Everywhere I found people going out of their way to be kind: twice someone offered to help carry my luggage; in a subway station unsolicited assistance was offered when I was looking around to find my way; a bus driver had some kind remarks for me in the midst of a traffic jam; on the bus an elderly woman made a point of waiting for me to make my way down the aisle, keeping the door open for me when we both left the bus.

Most of all, I was impressed by the help given me in a busy public library where I was looking for some specific information. The attendant at the department desk was tireless in trying to find what I needed. In all these instances, divine Love's radiance was so clear that I was reminded of the line from a well-known hymn, "The loveliness of Love is all around." Christian Science Hymnal,No. 64;
