Proper Orientation
Many of us today feel somewhat lost. Perhaps we're caught up in the identity crisis, or pressures and tensions have got us down. Maybe we're struggling with sickness, seeking a lasting healing.
There is an answer for each of us. We can find a way out of our quandaries. Christian Science can help us do this—through proper orientation; that is, through a spiritual understanding of ourselves. Mrs. Eddy writes: "The starting-point of divine Science is that God, Spirit, is All-in-all, and that there is no other might nor Mind,—that God is Love, and therefore He is divine Principle." Science and Health, p. 275;
Unlike systems that involve belief in an unknown power or superhuman being demanding blind, superstitious obedience, Christian Science reveals God as the only Mind, supreme intelligence, the source of all right ideas. He is Soul, the creator and maintainer of all beauty, individuality, health, and harmony. He is trustworthy Principle, Spirit, Love, Truth, and Life. Whether we are completely new to these teachings or are seasoned students, it is essential to make the understanding of God our starting point from which to advance.
