SUSAN'S PALOMINO
The day Susan and her family moved was an exciting one. They had been living in a large city, but now they were going to be on a ranch in the country. They could have all kinds of animals that Susan and her brother would learn to help care for, including some horses.
Susan loved horses. She had a wonderful collection of glass and plastic horses, but now her parents told her she could have a real horse!
One day a colt was born to one of their horses. Susan thought it was the most beautiful colt she had ever seen. It was a palomino with just a blaze of pure white on her forehead. Her father said it could be her very own. They named her "Chiquita."
