Christian Science was presented to me by my mother-in-law at a time when I was in great need of healing. She had been visiting in California, and while there she experienced a healing through Christian Science of an organic disorder of several years' standing.

I was deeply impressed with the account of her healing. She asked me if I would like to try Christian Science. I told her that the doctors had been very kind but had failed to help me and I would be willing to try anything that promised relief.

A Christian Science practitioner was called and asked to come to the home, as I was in bed most of the time. She shared some deep truths with me. She told me of God who is Love, always caring for His children, never punishing them. This was a very different God from the one I had learned about in the orthodox church of my parents.
