Probably the healing that was most important to me happened...
Probably the healing that was most important to me happened just before Christmas of last year. I've been a Christian Scientist all my life, and this was the healing in which I had the least help from anyone else. It really proved to me that anyone who works hard enough and depends on God can have a Christian Science healing.
I was on the freshman football team at our high school, and at one practice near the end of the season I smashed the thumb of my right hand quite badly. In making a tackle I accidentally hit the runner's helmet with my hand. My thumb was painful, and every time it got hit again it hurt more. Through the rest of practice I constantly declared that my strength comes from God, but not with much result.
My thumb was swollen, and pressure on it made it hurt, but I didn't do any concentrated praying about that. I just put that off because I assumed my thumb would eventually get better. After another couple of days, my coach took me to have some bandages and a splint put on my hand.
