ALIGHT WITH LOVE

Man's eyes are lit with love.
The focus is exact.
No fear or failing trust,
No false, unfaithful act
Can weaken or distort
The perfect sight of man,
Or send a blurred report
Of an eternal fact:
Man sees because he can.

Because he is, man sees,
For Life is wholly Mind
Which understands, perceives,
And then reflects in kind;
And Mind is wholly Love.
No blank indifference mars
The sight that, lit with love,
Looks through the dark to find
The brilliance of the stars.
