The Parable of the Sower
A sower—
One who plants seeds.
A parable—
A story with a meaning.
To tell right from wrong.
There was a big lake
And a little ship
Where Jesus sat.
Many people
Stood on the shore
To listen to the parable
Jesus told about the sower.
Some seeds fell by the wayside;
Fowls ate them up.
Some fell on stony ground.
Their roots had no earth.
Scorched by the sun,
They withered away.
Some fell where thorns grew
And choked them. ... ...
Others fell
Into good ground.
Each seed grew
And brought forth fruit.
The wayside—
Not understanding Truth.
Stony ground—
Unless we live Truth,
Nothing grows strong.
The good we could have
Is withered away.
Evil thoughts and deeds
Are thorns that choke
The word of Truth.
Good ground—
Listen,
Love,
Live Truth.
It will
Teach and heal,
And bring all good.
Jesus said:
"Who hath ears to hear,
let him hear." See Matt. 13:1-9 .
