SPIRITUALIZING THOUGHT
through prayer at work
An unusual article appeared in Fortune magazine recently. It was called: "When We Have a Problem, We Pray." Fortune, November, 1972 ;
Although business publications rarely mention prayer, this article described the active role that religion has played in the management of a growing insurance company and indicated that the company's interest in prayer was sincerely held.
In an age when the relevance of religion is often questioned, it is good for people to be reminded that prayer at work is an important part of the lives of many responsible men and women. Some of them may value prayer simply as an oasis in a busy day, a time for quiet thought, an escape from reality, a refuge from the world. But others are finding that there are deeper dimensions to prayer, dimensions that call for spiritualization of thought and action.
