I began my studies of Christian Science because
I began my studies of Christian Science because it presented a totally new way of life. I had reached a stage where life had no meaning. I was invited to attend a lecture on Christian Science, and this opened up a completely new vista for me.
At first my progress seemed slow, but a passage in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy lifted me up (p. 22): "If your endeavors are beset by fearful odds, and you receive no present reward, go not back to error, nor become a sluggard in the race."
Since then, I have had many healings. Some were instantaneous. One morning I awoke with a very sharp pain in my abdomen so that I could not even stand up properly or make breakfast for my husband. I phoned a Christian Science practitioner for treatment. It was uplifting to witness the error of physical illness vanish into nothingness in the face of scientific prayer. By ten o'clock I was well and outdoors digging in my garden.
