My parents enrolled me in a Christian Science Sunday School at an early age. Although at first I relied on medicine for healing, I gradually was able, through the loving support of my mother and a Christian Science practitioner, to give up the belief of needing medicine and turn wholly to God for healing.

I am very grateful to have been able to participate in a Christian Science college organization in two different colleges. In these organizations college students learn how to apply Science to their daily work. These college years were the years when I feel I grew most in my understanding of the Science of Christianity. My wife and I are both class-taught students, and we have seen healings of all types of health problems, as well as of business problems. Our children, who have been enrolled in a Christian Science Sunday School since the age of two, have had many demonstrations of God's healing power.

I would like to describe a healing for which I am very grateful. One day after an exceptionally challenging business luncheon, I returned to my office. While sitting at my desk, I noticed an unusual sensation in my left hand and leg. This grew more and more severe until I lost control over almost all of the left side of my body. Unable to hold the phone in my left hand, I picked it up with my other hand and managed to call my wife. Although I had almost no control over my voice, I was able to get the message over to her to call a Christian Science practitioner, who had a downtown office in the business district of our city, and ask him for an appointment. My wife was naturally concerned, but she began to pray to discern God's presence, so as to eliminate fear and recognize the perfection of man created in the image and likeness of God.
