How to Pray Effectively

"Just wrap him in a blanket. He won't live through the night."

My parents were Christian Scientists. When I grew up, they told me the story of my birth. They were grateful for the doctor's services, but they did not accept his verdict. Yes, they wrapped me in a blanket. But much more, they wrapped me in their prayers, not only on that first night, but during the two years which followed, when at times it seemed I would not survive. They never dosed me with medicine. They trusted God. They did not doubt. And I lived.
