Prayer Ends the Battle with Pain
She lived out in the jungle with her husband, miles from anywhere. One night she awoke with great pain in her legs. This condition, which had never been medically diagnosed but which she suspected was sciatica, had been recurring frequently. She crawled out of bed and struggled into the living room, earnestly praying, "Dear Father, help me!"
As she told me about it later, she just wholeheartedly reached out to God, and God alone, for her help. Suddenly she had a wonderful feeling of divine Love's presence and warmth right there in the midst of the dark jungle. (There was not a glimmer of light to be seen in any direction from her window.)
The pain vanished. And she went back to bed, completely healed. There has not been a recurrence of the condition in over twenty years. For her, this fight was over! What had happened? Why had her prayer on this occasion ended the recurring state she had battled with and prayed about for years?
