"You don't use medicine?"

"You don't use medicine? ... Only 'spiritual medicine'? ... Why?"

Many Christian Scientists have been faced with questions like these, along with incredulous looks on the part of the individual baffled by such a position. There are very logical and practical reasons why they take a radical stand for healing through spiritual means alone.

First of all, Christian Science is a religion and way of life in accord with the life and teachings of Jesus. The Master healed through spiritual means alone. He implicitly trusted God's all-power to remedy all types of disease. Relying on the all-knowing, ever-present great Physician, he never lost a case. His potent affirmations of Truth cut through material appearances of discord and demonstrated the perfect man of God's creating—upright, whole, free.
