My family's interest in Christian Science dates back to the early days when my grandmother and aunt were practitioners and teachers of Christian Science. For all of the family members who have been faithful to its teachings through the years the blessings have been many.

I can remember the first outstanding healing I had was that of typhoid fever when I was six years old. When I was thought to be passing on, a Christian Science practitioner came to our home. Upon his arrival he said to my mother, "You are the one who needs help. The child is all right." At that moment my mother's fear was destroyed, and by morning I was sitting at the breakfast table healed of the fever.

Mrs. Eddy tells us in Science and Health (p. 412), "Mentally insist that harmony is the fact, and that sickness is a temporal dream." And further on the same page, "If the case is that of a young child or an infant, it needs to be met mainly through the parent's thought, silently or audibly on the aforesaid basis of Christian Science." She also says in the same book (p. 376), "Destroy fear, and you end fever." That is exactly what took place.
