"To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings." How true this opening sentence in our textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, is I am able to testify. Christian Science came to my family in 1908 when my mother was healed in five days of a very advanced case of eczema. This was accomplished through absent treatment given by a loving acquaintance who simply asked if Mother would be willing that she give her Christian Science treatment through prayer. The healing was permanent.

After this healing experience my parents placed me in a Christian Science Sunday School. I especially want to express my gratitude for the foundational teaching I received during my teen-age years from loving, consecrated teachers. It was during these early years that I proved for myself the efficacy of Christian Science to meet all human needs.

My first demonstration, one I have never forgotten, was over lack. I wanted to be on the high school basketball team, but my parents did not feel it was financially possible. Through my own understanding that God is Love and He supplies all our legitimate needs a way opened up for me to earn the money for my outfit and trips. So I early learned that this is a very practical religion.
