Christian Science is the guiding light of my life
Christian Science is the guiding light of my life. Words could never adequately express my gratitude for what it has done for my wife and me, and our three sons. We have had healings of almost every type—physical, financial, and emotional.
A recent healing I experienced was that of a complete release from fear while sailing our 40-foot sailboat in the 1971 Transpacific Race from San Pedro to Honolulu. My crew consisted of two of my sons and four other men. On this particular race we seemed to be continually threatened by hurricanes building up to the south of us. When we were about 1,600 miles off the mainland, one of my sons, as was customary, was plotting the daily marine weather report. He brought to my attention the fact that a hurricane containing winds of over 100 miles per hour was projected to cross our path in a couple of days. We decided that there was no need to discuss this with the rest of the crew at that time. Both of us did prayerful work in Christian Science, knowing that, as God's ideas, we are always in our right place. The words from Hymn No. 53 in the Christian Science Hymnal
