Keeping Thought Simple
To Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, there was an underlying simplicity to life. He loved little children, their purity and their simple trust and faith. He once took a little child, set him in the midst of a crowd, and said, "Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven." Matt. 18:3;
How is it possible for adults to "become as little children"? What qualities of children did Jesus know were needed if the kingdom of heaven is to be attained? Certainly an essential quality is purity of thought. Jesus said, "Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God." 5:8; It is seeing God that is the simple answer to all our problems. Seeing God means seeing the reality of God's forever-harmonious, perfect universe and His perfect man. Seeing God means seeing good everywhere and in everyone.
In Science and Health Mrs. Eddy writes, "The mortal mind through which Truth appears most vividly is that one which has lost much materiality—much error—in order to become a better transparency for Truth." Science and Health, p. 295;
