This testimony is to express my heartfelt gratitude for a healing that came to me two years ago. After a very severe earthquake which shook Los Angeles and vicinity, I was in a very serious nervous state of shock. I found that I could not stay in my third floor apartment alone or even if someone else was present.

I was so fearful that I seemed in mortal agony. Several times I tried to reach a Christian Science practitioner. One time he was out on a call, and at other times there was no answer to his phone. I felt a compelling urge to be on the go, either in my car or just going, going, and wanting people around all the time. I spent the nights at a dear friend's house, as I seemed to be calmer on a first floor and with someone near.

One morning after almost two weeks of this running, I was no better. I knew that I must get hold of myself, that I could not run from any problem. I had been a student of Christian Science for nearly twenty years, and I had been praying, but now I turned more resolutely to God as we are taught to do in Science. I decided that I didn't need help from others but I should do my own work. I immediately went to a Christian Science Reading Room and started to read and study. I spent many hours there each day. My thinking began to become a little more peaceful.
