Marriage and Completeness
It is sometimes surprising for people to learn that human marriage is not a heavenly institution. But that is the case, as Christ Jesus' words make clear: "They which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage." Luke 20:35;
God does not cherish us as single, married, or divorced mortals. He knows us as individual expressions of His infinite love, lacking nothing. He sees male and female qualities harmoniously blended in each of us, and He showers us with happiness, health, satisfaction, and supply.
Isaiah perceived the everlasting partnership of God and man when he affirmed, "Thy Maker is thine husband." Isa. 54:5; Mary Baker Eddy writes, "When we realize that Life is Spirit, never in nor of matter, this understanding will expand into self-completeness, finding all in God, good, and needing no other consciousness." Science and Health, p. 264;
