"The Lord gave..."

What does the Lord give, and what does He take away? Does the infinite Principle give to its idea, man, something that is finite? Could there be anything that immortal Life would give to its manifestation only to take it away again? Does divine Love give to man what makes him feel loved and then snatch it from him?

God is Principle, Life, Love. Man, according to Genesis, first chapter, reflects God. "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him." Gen. 1:27; God gives to His image only what God has to give—what is in Principle, Life, Love.

There is nothing in Principle that ever began or will ever end. There is nothing in the immortal Life that is ever born or ever dies. There is nothing in divine Love that can make one's growing love of a lovely thing be at the same time a growing fear of losing that thing.
