A Good Night's Rest
Vast quantities of patent medicines that claim to help people sleep are sold every year. Some promise to relax the individual. Some promise to remove his aches and pains. Some simply say they can produce refreshing sleep.
Apparently getting a good night's rest has always been a challenge to mankind. Dependence on drugs for needed sleep is very unsatisfactory to many who rely on these aids.
Happily, everyone can turn to God to supply his need for relaxation and repose. The Bible contains numerous thoughts he can ponder during wakeful periods, which seem often to be filled with uneasiness or fear. For instance, the Psalmist declares, "I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety." Ps. 4:8; Christian Science, discovered and founded by Mary Baker Eddy, can show each one how to make the Bible teachings practical in this as in every other aspect of his life.
