Healing Grace
Christian Science proves that a spiritual healing is not a miraculous event but the natural outcome of developed spiritual perception. It occurs when the grace of God, divine Love, reaches the human mind through prayer, uplifting it and purging it of disease-producing fear, ignorance, or sin.
Mrs. Eddy writes: "The miracle of grace is no miracle to Love. Jesus demonstrated the inability of corporeality, as well as the infinite ability of Spirit, thus helping erring human sense to flee from its own convictions and seek safety in divine Science." Science and Health, p. 494;
But what is grace? One dictionary defines it as "divine influence renewing the heart and restraining from sin." It indicates that the word "grace" is related to the Latin words meaning "favor" and "beloved." So the healing grace of God could be fairly defined as the loving favor with which the divine Mind views its creation— an attitude of which each child of God in his true being is conscious.
